Evan,

We saw “Killers” and really appreciated how you kept one location interesting with the diversity of your score. And yet all scenes were also unified by the common instruments you used. I’m sure you gathered from our conversation that we’re looking for a different kind of a score... quite lush and rich in some areas and dynamic and percussion-based in others, always trying to keep in mind an ethnic feel (Ethnic in the general sense of Spanish or Latin American music).

The scene we’re interested in you having look is approximate at tc 31. The scene starts with a push in/pan from Harris’ empty bed onto a terrace where Harris is sitting, having breakfast. Eric enters. Harris uncomfortably insinuates that he would like to get the hell out of there, and Eric succintly explains why he is being kept around and that he really has no choice .in the matter. At this point in the film, we’re still in the house and would like to keep the feel simple and elegant, befitting the surroundings and somehow still have a Spanish flavor, even if only slight. Emotionally, we feel we need help conveying Harris’ sense of being trapped, discomfort & guilt, and fear of being found out. At the same time, we see Eric as being very forthright and someone not to be messed with, and yet likable and attempting to bond with Harris.

Thanks Evan. These notes, are of course, somewhat abstract, but they’ll give you an idea of our general needs. I’m leaving on the 17th for London and then I’m going to Spain and I won’t be back until January 14. So you’ll have to coordinate with Edwin in terms of getting something to us if it’s after my departure. Obviously, we don’t want you to rush it, and don’t know how fast you work. So let us know.

Talk to you soon. Please call if you need any clarification.

All the Best,
Elliot & Shane
